Tiny Violence

I’ll play the violins

I’ll play the violins

As we are consumed by the silence

I’ll play the violins

I’ll play the violins

As we are consumed by the violence

Warnings not heeded that sentries have repeatedly told

Nations heated the festering wounds centuries old

History’s stitches never hold

Wounds deep

Where our inner demons sleep

The grown over pasture cave

The master even before the slave

Was a conception

The devils deception

That he did not exist

Became the the tension in our closed fist

Our nations aggression

Transgression

Our first possession

And this misery crap was here before

But here we are taking the victory lap like we did not hear the losing score

The weight of hate we’ve chose to ignore

But the dogs of neglect now demand our respect

And they are hungry

Eating at the soul of country

Leash is dragging catching us like a noose

We have let our worst demons loose

It’s no wonder we losing our minds

Just parade horses with dropped blinds

Over stimulated and medicated

Improperly educated

Ignorant to the truth until it’s hard to deny

Filled up with emotion but taught not to cry

We face the truth ill prepared

We face the truth ill and scared

Weighed down like rocks

By a box

With no locks

That provides no keys

To the doors it explores

The history it ignores

Telling us we are alone in this river of time

To the point where it feels like being a givers a crime

Telling us we are living in a vacuum and no one can hear our scream

Dividing us like gym class on to a team

We are in pain

And insane

Consumed by the slow rot

Of were not taught

And lies bought

Starving from the empty calories of doom and gloom

We consume

The stew made from misinformation they teach

Be cause the olive branch is purposely kept out of reach and there’s life preserver to be found

And in this stagnant cesspool we drown

Bombarded by

So many choices it’s hard to make a decision

So many voices spreading the division

I’ve lost sight of the light as they they infect the incision

Every night garbage on the television

It’s not right so many horrors in to my vision

That I in my mind

I often find

That I often forget that anything could ever be just fine

Scared when I hear people cough

All around the world bombs are going off

The religious are clutching their bibles

The ridiculous are clutching their rifles

Even pro-life reach for the steak knife

To slaughter their kin

In living room civil wars battles no one can win

Tearing families asunder

And I got to wonder

Is this what they want?

From a box that tease and taunt

To politicians that wear false masks

And criticize anyone who asks

Or makes a suggestion

That destiny might be in our possession

They are calling injustictice justice

Have us wondering “is it just us?”

Are we go alone against the unknown

Destroying everything we’ve ever known?!

Beyond Orwellian Memes…

If we actually read and at times trudge through Orwell’s ‘1984’ past the surface-level and often selectively applied conversations about misinformation and manipulation of truth, we begin to see a dee
